Real-Time Server
The server is scalable and secure, and consists of an Enterprise Service Bus (SUN OpenESB) and a J2EE Application Server. The ESB delivers messaging brokering functionality while the Application Server acts as a meta-container for all instantiated Advanced Process Automation web services needed for specific deployment requirements.
The Real-Time Server requires a small database (approximately 100 GBs), which is used only to manage Advanced Process Automation content (solution files), user/role/access control configuration information, and required software components.
The Real-Time Server does not master any enterprise-related data and it does not require any replication or migration of existing databases. All existing databases remain in place and require no synchronization with the Advanced Process Automation database. The Real-Time solution is architected to leverage existing LDAP/Active resources deployed in its customer's IT infrastructure.
The setup and configuration of the Real-Time Server is described in the Real-Time Server Installation and Upgrade Guide and the System Administration Guide.
